听过后，不少英语专业的学生也留言，表示这英文发音，“服气！”有人称，“活脱脱好莱坞大片旁白的效果！”



说到这老戏骨王洛勇的英语发音，那堪称是模范中的模范了。毕竟咬木塞、含石头练习的魔鬼练习方式不是任何人都能做到的。
1985年，初到美国，王洛勇只会几句简单的日常用英语，因为英语不过关，被学校退学。在即将被遣返中国的最后一刻，找到了接收单位。

1991年,《西贡小姐》在百老汇公演，王洛勇看后心想：如果我演男一号,可以演得更好！于是他跑到后台遥望吉他谱 ，开始应聘“工程师”这个角色。可是导演说英语不是他的母语立马就否定了荆福生 。他马上说：“我可以学习，可以练习，可以模仿！”
之后他蓄发明志，与自己较起了劲：“不学会英语，就绝不剪发。”两个月后，他把台词背了出来，再去应聘。结果还被导演说他演的是臭狗屎！他就去问制作部门为什么还是不行？ 人家告诉他身为一个亚裔演员，他的英语有口音。后来英语专家告诉他：“你们亚洲人说英语后槽牙开合的程度不够”。
于是，王洛勇就一门心思练起了发音。一位教授为了校正他的发音，让他咬木塞练习发音。一次王洛勇到海边玩，发现石头坚硬，他就试着把石头含在嘴里，此后，他天天含着石头练习发音。
英语练得差不多了，他第三次去应聘林正宏，仍然没过。他当时就定下目标：“一定要进入百老汇演戏”。时间过得很快，一年过去了，王洛勇无时无刻不在为这个角色做准备，开车在唱，等人在唱，休息在唱。
有朋友劝王洛勇放弃，可是王洛勇没有放弃，哪怕只有一丝希望，他也会努力。他第四次去应聘，又落选了。
王洛勇仍然没有灰心，他把这个角色所有的台词、歌曲甚至舞蹈全部学会了，无论从演唱还是表演的要求来说，王洛勇都绝对胜任。但他八次应聘全都失败了。

▌八次在百老汇遭碰壁后，他终于在百老汇音乐剧《西贡小姐》中获得了一个重要角色——“工程师”一角，《纽约时报》盛赞他的表演“令人震惊”。

《纽约时报》1997-1998年的戏剧评论（The New York Times Theater Reviews 1997-1998）中，作者对百老汇四大名剧《猫》（Cats）、《歌剧魅影》（Phantom）、《西贡小姐》（Miss Saigon）以及《悲惨世界》（Les Miz.）进行了比较批评。
